How to measure seawater density with the hw® hydrometer
Fill a preferably transparent measuring vessel at least 22 cm high with the seawater to be tested. Carefully place the hw® hydrometer in the vessel. For an accurate reading, it must float freely without touching the sides.
Read the density on the upper scale at the lower meniscus: the lower edge of the curved water surface at the scale. Take the water temperature and the calibration and temperature correction information into account.
After use, rinse the hydrometer with fresh water and dry it carefully with a clean, dry cloth. Store it in the protective sleeve supplied.
