This replacement part is a tightly sealed UV-C lamp and glass-jacket assembly for your hw UV steriliser model 3000 (55 Watt). Replacing the assembly renews the UV source in your hw UV steriliser.

The UV lamp is a wear part and should be replaced after about 10,000–12,000 operating hours at the latest, since although after this time visible light is frequently still emitted, very little effective UV radiation remains. If your unit has a starter, replace it at the same time as the hw UV replacement lamp model 3000.

Replacing the hw UV replacement lamp model 3000 in the splash-proof hw UV steriliser model 3000 (55 Watt), degree of protection IP64:

1. Unplug the unit, then disconnect its hoses.
2. To open the unit, it is best to place it flat on a table. Fully unscrew both screws located at the top on the side of the unit. The complete head piece can now be removed from the plastic tube and glass part. Take care not to tear off any cables.
3. Remove the cable plug from the burner contacts. Carefully withdraw the glass part from the lower base. The old glass part can be removed after disconnecting the cable plug.
4. (For units with conventional ballast and equipped with STARTER:
   The starter holder is readily accessible in the upper part of the plastic tube.)
5. Fit the new glass part in reverse order; the polarity of the connectors is irrelevant.
6. To ease insertion, apply a thin layer of Vaseline to the ends of the glass part.
7. To remove any compressed air in the unit, the pressure between the sealing ring and glass body can be released with a toothpick or similar implement.

In the interests of electrical safety, the sealing rings must never be removed.
